Online Retail industries will continue to attract a larger customer base as more households buy items electronically, according to IBISWorld, the nation’s largest publisher of industry research. Rising consumer confidence, in particular, will benefit online retail’s long-term growth, since it contributes to buying and customer retention. IBISWorld projects that in the five years to 2016, online retail revenue will increase at an average annual rate of 9.6% to total $310.1 billion. However, news is not all good for e-tailers as the looming threats of regulation may hamper sales and reduce profit in the coming years. To determine the winners and losers from the e-shopping boom, industry research firm IBISWorld, has expanded its market research report collection to cover 50 industries within the Online Retail market.
